Here is a quick update. All is well. I am not getting much sleep these days even though everyone keeps telling me to get all the sleep I can now. I really wish I could but even with Tylenol PM I get about an hour or two before waking up to pee and shift positions. This routine of getting out of bed goes on all night. It's draining. I suppose it's preparing me for the baby - or so I am told. I am really ready to meet this baby. I am so anxious and excited - and nervous as hell! I am ready! I had some strong contractions on Friday night and Saturday morning & I was sure it was time...but after a shower and a nap they disappeared. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow so I will have an update on how close I am to having this baby. Will it be an April or May baby??? We'll find out very soon.
I've been doing lots of nesting. Cleaning, cooking, baking and organizing. I wanted the house to be spotless when we go to the hospital. I was getting a little carried away and now I realize that I can only do the best I can. The house will probably be a mess when we get home from the hospital...but I am just so tired and I don't think the baby will mind the mess too much. I just hope that our visitors can forgive the pigsty.
Last night I dreamt the baby was a boy & weighed 9lbs 60z. (Holy Cow!) He had chubby cheeks and didn't look like a newborn. He had blond hair. Then I had another dream I was holding the most beautiful little girl baby. She was an angel...So we're still here, dreaming, imagining & wondering who this baby will be. We can't wait little one. We love you so much already! No matter who you are, if you are a boy or girl, what you look like...we love you unconditionally. We just hope you go easy on us new parents who probably don't realize what we got ourselves into. =)

The first photo I added because my pets are just too cute! Just as I finished typing the last sentence Lily pounced on a sleeping Woody twice...so maybe they aren't being too sweet today. Woody also tried chasing down the guy from the Census Bureau this morning. I think they are sensing that the baby is coming because they are super attached to me lately. My poor spoiled babies are going to have a hard time with a new family member. I bought them treats & toys for when the baby comes but they found the stash the other night & busted opened the bag & ruined their surprises! Darn pets!
The second photo is from yesterday's ultrasound. The midwife wanted to make sure the baby's head is down & it is! Phew! It is a BIG head - as you can see. The ultrasound isn't all that high tech but you can see some of the features. Lets hope the baby is cuter then his/her photo. The baby looks like Gallahxar from Monsters vs. Aliens. LOL!
The third photo is of the cake I made for dessert last night. Forgive the sloppy writing, strange expression and the weird pirate headband. Mullet is the name we have chosen for the baby...actually Mullet for a boy & Mullita for a girl. Now you all know the names we've been keeping hush-hush about for weeks. What do you think? ;-)
P.S. The grocery clerk at Albertson's is sure the baby is a Boy...so that means almost everyone from co-workers, to parents to store clerks think it's a Boy...hhhhmmmm. Time will tell. ;-)

We're just about done with Baby M's room. I still have a little organizing to do & we need some more art for the walls. I'll post more photos this week when I'm all done.
By the way, the foil in the crib is to keep Lily (the kitty) out. The girls on The Bump gave me this tip. Well...it didn't work! She just crawled under the foil to nap! I've been using the ol' spray bottle technique which has been working much better. Above the foil blanket you can see the beautiful bumper my mom made for the crib. She's still working on the quilt & the other piece of the bumper. I love the bedding! It's gorgeous!
Keep checking in for more photos!

Waiting for Baby M...

I've been feeling like a whale lately so as you can see there haven't been any belly photos. I have yet to find a good shot of myself from my shower...All I want is one without 3 chins and huge matronly arms. I would even settle for a double chin photo. LOL...Here is a one courtesy of Jenny. This is the dress I wore to my shower. Thanks for everything Jenny!!!
I am free! I am officially on maternity leave and hopefully this means more time for blogging and other fun stuff. I got up a little late this morning because I was up most of the night with an evil tummy ache. I got up and did a load of laundry, watered my plants and took Woody out to pee. Now I'm back in bed, just finished off a big bowl of Honeycombs & am watching some trashy daytime television. It's heaven. I must say that I still haven't broke my emotional ties with work & I keep worrying about what might slip through the cracks. I can't help myself. It's been harder to leave work then I thought it would be. Everyone that knows me knows my hatred for work, well not work or hard work itself but just all the icky office politics that goes along with it. I should be happy to rid myself of the drama, seeing people get fired or embarrassed in meetings...but somehow I think I may miss it a little...just a little. Don't get me wrong, I am so excited to be a SAHM and I know it will be the toughest, most rewarding job I'll ever have. I am just a little sentimental. I know it will change when Baby M arrives. Plus I am loving my time off.
My family & work baby showers were at the end of the month and I can't wait to post photos here. We got so much stuff. We only had to buy a few necessities because we were so lucky enough to get most of the things we need. My mom did such a great job of putting the shower together. Everyone chipped in & played a part in making the shower special. My mother-in-law, aunts, sister-in-law-to-be, niece, cousin & best friend all came together to help. It was awesome! It was a beautiful day, the food was awesome and everyone showed us so much love and support. Our baby is so loved already and it makes me beyond happy. Thanks everyone!
My work shower was last week and it was very nice. All my co-workers bought me gifts, even a girl that started the day before! We got a ton of baby goodies. There was an adorable cake & we did a few games. It ended up being a lot less stressful then I imagined. My co-workers are awesome...most of them anyway.
At both of my showers we polled people to see what sex they believe Baby M to be. Everyone is convinced Baby M is a Boy...If Baby M is a girl people are going to be very surprised. Soooooo, we'll see how correct everyone is. This is so much fun!!!
The nursery is almost done. I need to empty some shelves but everyone is set up. I'll take photos today. I love the way the room looks. It's so darn cute! There isn't much of a theme but there are lots of sweet animals everywhere. My mom made me the most gorgeous baby bedding I have ever seen. It's so special. I'll post photos soon...I promise.
